Good Example Of Tablet Problems With Touch Screen

Here is a video I found while trying to look up the new iPhone. While I’m sure the technology is great, the first thing I noticed was a common problem with tablets that I think should be addressed first. Keep in mind it has nothing to do with Sharp IGZO Technology that’s being shown but instead watch as her hand or wrist touches the tablet while trying to write causes so many problem.

What tablet companies should to in my opinion is create a button that turns off the touch screen to any kind of device or movement other than a dedicated pen much like the ones that come with Digital Drawing tablets (WACOM and etc). I have a cheap, which I love, $60 drawing tablet for working in Photoshop and Illustrator. I can move my fingers over it and nothing happens. It only works with the pen.

So if there were a way to make the screen, while in write mode, only function with a pen it would be great! Instead as you can see in the first part of the video she is opening up all kinds of stuff by accident. At one point she finally just writes around the boxes…

Just a thought?
