BuySellAds? Yeah that’s what you can do over at BuySellAds.com.

They developers did an excellent job in making BuySellAds.com a very simple experience but yet so powerful. It’s very easy to use for both publishers and/or advertisers. So if you’re looking for a cheap way to advertise or if you have a website that needs a little extra funding I recommend you check them out.

For Advertisers they offer a control panel that tracks both Impressions and Clicks. It also records the click through rate for each site you are advertising on. The minimum price people can sell ads for is $10.00 a month. That’s not bad for 30 days of visitors.  BuySellAds is still growing so now is a good time to jump on board and search through their HUGE list of sites to advertise on and get some inexpensive advertising. I found a designer site that had just started using BuySellAds and before long their ads when from $10.00 to $150. I purchased my ad at the rate of $10.00 so I was locked in at that price until I canceled it.

For Publishers they offer you the ability to sell ads practically of any size on your site. However I would recommend you stick with IAB standards because most everyone that creates ads on the internet will follow these guidelines. Selling ads only takes a few moments to fill out a short form with information such as location of the ads on your site, how much, sizes and etc. Once you have completed the form and created a new “zone” for ads, you then add the code for it to show up. Then wait for someone to make a purchase!

Another perk is getting paid. You can request money either by PayPal, Wire or Check. I recommend PayPal because you can cashout 1-2 times a month. Wire transfers cost too much $$$ unless you are making thousands a month.

Adbrite is sorta like google adwords but is more user friendly IMO. I once found a site that was on CNN and was able to advertise on it for a full month at only $14. It sent me thousands more hits that month.

I use this company for both buying and selling ads. I make $250 extra a month advertising which allows me to turn around and buy more advertising for myself. You can buy ad space on places like Tshirtwatch.com and etc.

ProjectWonderful.com
This is another great advertising site I use. Basically people sell image ad space on their site and you bid on how much you will pay. It’s very inexpensive to do and you can start with as little as $10.

Giving Away Free Shirts
This works best. I give all my friends shirts, I give shirts away on myspace and wear mine everywhere I go. What this does is leads to questions from the public who see individuals wearing these shirts.

Examples:
At the police department we had to chase down this one kid from a fight that had happened. Finally a few hours later at the jail he saw me wearing my “if you run you’ll only go to jail tired”, which lead to him wanting t-shirts for his band…

A friend wore his to Home depot and the checkout personnel laughed and asked where to pick one up. (business cards come in handy at this point)

I was at a fast food joint last week wearing my new “dear boss I quit” and was asked where to get it at.

Word of mouth works and works well…

Text-Link-Ads.com allows you to sell text ads on your sites and blogs. If you have a site, any site, I would recommend looking into signing up an account.

They way it works is you can sell up to 10 links which will be displayed by adding custom code into your sites page or template. The ads show up in a row and can be customized by X number of columns you would like to display. A good example of how Text-Link-Ads.com works is to visit the bottom of my T-shirt site NekkidTees.com.

I have section called “Friends” and in it I sell links. I don’t want to take away from the whole aspect that I’m selling t-shirts but at the same time I don’t mind helping fellow shop owners or related companies. By adding that little block of links at the bottom of my site, I make anywhere from $300 to $400 extra a month. While that’s not much to some it’s enough to help me fund that project by buying business cards, giving away free shirts or some cheap advertising (which I’ll be discussing later on).

The only complaint I have with Text-Link-Ads.com is that recently, for what ever reason, they took away direct linking to your advertising package. This means that if someone contacts you and wants to buy a text link, you have no way to telling them where to go buy it! I contacted support about this and was told their system functions differently now. People contact them and they put proposals together. Well that was by far the stupidest thing I have ever heard. After all money is money is it now? If someone wants to buy a link and give me money I really don’t care how it has to happen as link as it happens.

After some digging around I found out how to overcome this obstacle once again. I will be happy to explain how that is done later on if enough people are interested.

One other thing to note is that if you sell ads for.. lets say $50, Text-link-ads gets half of that. While that is a lot let me just say that at least you will be making money off of a spot that probably had nothing there to begin with.
