Having started out as a Reserve officer for the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office, I saw a need for them to communicate across more platforms other than the local news paper. I created the SequatchieSheriff.com site as a way for the community to be more informed. Around this time I had hoped to get a .gov address but the dotgov people had other plans. They simplified the process but only a governing body such as a county, city or state could get .gov domains. We decided on a .com as it’s the most recognized extension.
The site lists many features such as an anonymous tip section, what to do if a loved one is incarcerated and many other resources to help those in or around Sequatchie County.
